Holiday Photos

1. Plan your trip

Before you start packing your bags and booking your flights, take some time to plan your trip. Check out local events in your area. Some of the nicest scenes are the hidden gems in your nearby parks and locations. Decide where you want to go and what you want to see. Once you have a destination in mind, research the best time of year to visit. This will help you avoid crowds and capture the perfect photos. Go early and be prepared once you arrive on the scene to take pictures right away. When you’re taking photos, it’s important to find the perfect spot. This means finding a location with the best lighting and the best background. Once you find the perfect spot, make sure you take some time to set up your camera. This way, you can take the best photos possible.

2. Pack the right gear

No matter where you’re going or what you’re planning to do, make sure you pack the right gear. This includes a DSLR camera, lens, flash, extra batteries, a tripod, any other accessories you might need, and maybe a shutter remote.

3. Get to know your camera

One of the best ways to take amazing photos is to get to know your camera. Familiarize yourself with all the features and functions so you can make the most of them. This way, you’ll be able to capture the best photos possible.

4. Take your time

When you’re taking photos, it’s important to take your time. This means taking a few deep breaths and relaxing. Once you’re feeling calm, take your time to compose your photo. This way, you can avoid mistakes and capture the perfect photo. Your photos should be reflective of the scene your trying to portray. This includes thinking about the lighting and the setup. Other options could be setting up your scene by ordering backdrops from a company. Remember chances are you will need lights to complete the picture. Look at samples of how the backdrop is lit up and pose you or your subjects accordingly.

If you are shooting a picture with lights avoid using flash. It will often time blow out the photo. Light the faces of the subjects not the background in the photos.
